The Association has been a strong supporter of some well established National and International Conferences for the past 6 years.  These events embrace the principals of Sustainability in Business and have become our corporate partners.

National Sustainability in Business Conference | 8 - 9 March 2018
Hotel Grand Chancellor – Brisbane

The 2018 National Sustainability in Business Conference will be held on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 March 2018 at Hotel Grand Chancellor, Brisbane.  The 2nd annual conference will explore sustainability best practice within organisations, creating resilience in business and ways to implement change.  The sustainability topics that will be embraced by our speakers will include integration, politics, technology, automation, future of renewables, procurement, food security, sustainable construction and waste as a resource. The  conference speakers and partners will provide insight into how  they are interweaving sustainability practices within their organisations, navigating change and the differences they are making within national and  multinational companies and small business.

This conference will provide a platform for business leaders, sustainability innovators, researchers and those working toward progressing sustainability practice within their organisation. The inaugural Business Leaders Breakfast has been added to our 2018 program to provide additional networking opportunities among forward thinking professionals.  We look forward to you joining us at the National Sustainability in Business Conference.

10th Making Cities Liveable Conference 2017

The 10th Making Cities Liveable Conference was held in Brisbane from the 10 – 11 July 2017 and featured an inspirational and educational program inclusive of 9 keynote presenters and 56 concurrent speakers. The 2017 Conference Program focused on the ongoing commitment of professionals in the field who help contribute to our city’s environments through learning, knowledge and collaboration. Over the two days, we examined public policy and social/community outcomes and considered what actions have been taken to positively influence the ongoing debate. Together, we considered new ideas and solutions for the future development of our Liveable Cities.

 3rd Safe Cities Conference 2017

The 2017 Safe Cities Conference was held in Brisbane on the 12 July and featured a variety of keynote and concurrent presenters who shared their expertise on managing safety and security within our vibrant communities.

This year’s conference program was designed around the theme of community and public safety. Topics such as digital safety and security, crime prevention and the design of safe neighbourhoods were discussed, and new ideas emerged.

4th Australian Regional Development Conference 2017

The 4th Australian Regional Development Conference will be held at Novotel Coffs Harbour Pacific Bay Resort from Monday 11 – Tuesday 12 September 2017. This conference will focus on issues surrounding the Economy, Planning, Environment and Community Development while considering the “State of the Regions Report” which called for support of regional economic development through diverse infrastructure investments determined by regional priorities in partnership with Local Government.

3rd Developing Northern Australia Conference 2017

Initiatives for Progress, Growth and Investment

The Developing Northern Australia Conference was held at the Pullman Cairns International Hotel on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 June 2017.

Cairns was chosen as the destination for this annual conference following on from Townsville in 2015 and Darwin in 2016 and focused on the theme of Progress, Growth and Investment in driving initiatives in the development of northern Australia.

Topics presented and discussed included land and water; food and agribusiness; forestry; resources and energy; tourism and hospitality; international education; healthcare and medical research; infrastructure; workforce opportunities; indigenous-led northern development; and developing strategic links as the Gateway to Asia.

The International Urban Design Conference 

Disruption, Divergence and Designed Intervention – Making Change Happen

The 10th International Urban Design Conference will be held at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, Gold Coast, Queensland from Monday 13 – Tuesday 14 November 2017. This year there are optional tours available on Wednesday 15 November. These will include visiting two of the precincts that have been designed and built for the 2018 Commonwealth Games held on the Gold Coast in April 2018.
