Conference Program Producer and Researcher

The Conference Program Producer & Researcher will work on a number of existing Association Conferences in the Sustainability, Regional Development, Architecture, Emergency Management and Public Health fields.  You will work closely with the conference committees and develop appropriate programs.

You will need at least 3 years' experience in dealing with academics, decision makers, and senior business and government managers.

About You

You will be able to develop innovative event and conference programs, identify speakers and conduct research and analysis.

You will have excellent negotiation and written skills, be deadline driven and confident in your liaison with senior professionals.

You have a strong interest in current affairs and can identify issues relating to the programs within each sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify issues that impact our Association's areas of interest.
  • Drive content, speaker and event production to continue the development of 17 existing national conferences.
  • Liaise with each conference committee and chair meetings where appropriate.
  • Identify and secure Australia's best thinkers and thought-leaders as speakers.
  • Write promotional copy to market events together with event briefing notes.
  • Be self-driven and able to work as part of a small and busy team.


Selection Criteria

  • 3 years + experience as an event producer, or in communications/marketing or journalism.
  • Relevant qualifications/experience
  • Proven research and strong interpersonal skills
  • An ability to multi-task across numerous internal and external stakeholders
  • High level organisational skills with tight deadline management
  • Experience with membership organisations will be highly regarded but is not essential
  • Australian residency status.
